I took my car to the mechanic to fix a starting problem my car has. He told me that the computer engine was not working correctly and that he would need more money and time to try to fix it. I unplugged my battery overnight to reset the ECU, would this have anything to do with the computer engine not working (not throwing codes)??????

computer engine? never heard it called a computer engine, computers done have engines. i guess he is talking about the ecu.

the ecu can store codes without throwing a CEL. i think your mechanic giving you some BS.

honestly the ecu would the last thing to replace on a list of items to check.

Ya ECU was what i meant. I dont know what to do? I dont really want the mechanic to start troubleshooting because that will get expensive FAST!

take it back from the mechanic and buy another ecu or borrow one from a friend that you know for sure that it works or you can get them on junkyard/ebay. its way cheaper. you can probably buy 2 used ecu for less than $50
