the engine conflict of the century continues, both are good both are bad....neither is really better than the other... dont let someone else tell you what to think about the motors, find someone with one of each and make you own decision which one is for you please nobody respond!!!

u're right u're not the smartest person. if u really cant find any info here u can do a search on google. if u're going to go n/a sr20de because of the price might as well just get a ca18det and have more power and cool turbo sounds. n/a is not worth it

Correct.

Incorrect. I can tell you for sure that there are AT LEAST 3 different versions. (I think more actually) Certain models of the s13, s14 and s15 each came with there own version of the sr20de overseas. They were obviously lesser powered than their turbo counterparts but ran higher compression to compensate for the lack of the turbo.

Search for "sr20de" and dont be afraid to search Archived posts because I know for sure theres been info posted about them here before.

OOOOHHH!!!

yup they sure did make an SR with no turbo and rwd. It was used in the s14 and s15, but not sure about the s13... The s15 version actually put out over 200 horses, but lacked on the torque. Some people make that swap, you can get it for cheap ,but it is not direct injection, it has a distributor, and it doesnt make good power if that what your looking for. KA's are better than NA SR's because of the torque nature and it has more power.

Ive also seen people get that motor for cheap because they wanted to completely build a motor...If you want to swap pistons, rods and rings, you just might enjoy the SR20de converted to turbo. It does make sense to get one istead of the SR if you are doing that cause youll pay high for the SR-t just to tear it apart, but you have to really know what youre doing and youll have to sourve all the other parts.

because just stepping foot in Japan makes your car a turbo charged, Need For Speed, Gran Turismo, Fast and Furious Drift or drag racer....

Didnt you know?

But to put my line of thinking back in front of you...I only mention what I am certain of, I am certain of the S14's and S15's ,but I had never seen or heard a sr20de s13 (in or from japan), now I would also like to add that if you just look at what the other models had you cant detemine what was available for the s13 because there were no CA18det s14's and s15's however that motor did live in the s13...

it lived in the s13 in 89-90 (hence 180sx, 1.8L get it?) it came with the ca18det cuz the rwd sr20det was not developed just yet. and as we all know rwd turbo sr's are different from fwd turbo sr's. u're right that u only mentioned wat u know. thats cool. the s15 n/a engine u spoke of btw is called the autech which is a performance shop in japan that tunes and developed the engine for nissan.

silvia q's silvia spec s

were n/a

those motors weren't very competitive. it'll take a fortune to make it competitive to like a k20 from honda.

Sorry didnt know they made a RWD SR20DE. Now that I know they exist thanks. You can take some of the smart *** back but thanks anyway. Also no need to search for me I dont really care to much about the motor.
