Welcome to NICO

If your vehicle is unber warranty let the dealer check it out. Check to see if your gas cap is on tight. If you want to do it yourself you need one of these.

If you want to do it yourself, drive down to autozone, ask them for their obd2 code reader. loan them $160 to use it, bring it back and then they give you the $160 back. If you're lucky like I was and park close enough and they're nice enough they'll just let you use it and bring it back cause they can see your car.

If you do it this way when you plug the tester into the car, the plug is right under the steering column and have your ignition turned to the on position (it doesn't have to be running just on & not acc but full on position). It's simple I never used one and was able to see the button that said read codes, it's that easy. Clearing them after you read them is just as easy too

P.S. That link Telcoman posted is for an OBD1 scanner, our cars have the OBD2 version of it. I saw links for them off to the right but it's not the main one that opens just FYI.

Yeah, sorry about that. I copied the wrong link. If anyone has purchased an OBDll scanner & is happy with it I'd be interested in hearing about it
