Ive notices a audiable clunking at idle in my motor, i cant seem to determine the source, but if i disable the spark in the front middle cylinder the clunk is much louder, i did that with all the other cylinders and none of them made any noise , can it be a connecting rod bearing ? or the pin that holds the rod to the piston ?any advice would help thanks.

Check your engine oil for metallic debris from the bearing surfaces/ galling from the wrist pin. If you see copper like material upon draining the oil then you have some bearing issues. Another good way to find the debris is to cut your oil filter up this works really good too.

If you are not sure what to look for , go to your engine guru and have him help you.

Is it noticeable on hot operation as well as cold operation? If it diminishes on hot operation you probably have a sloppy piston fit.
