Just in case someone else runs into this situation. Check engine light has been on the last few days (been very very cold). Codes P0181 and P0183. Dealership has isolated issue to fuel temperature sensor. The are going to replace the complete fuel pump assembly which includes this sensor. Part will be in tomorrow.

The code is pretty much self-explanatory, so it may be the dealer didn't isolate anything.

Tech used a scan tool to monitor actual sensor fuel temp readings. Readings were not right and did not change when car was left outside (very cold) or inside the shop. Tech had to remove the rear seat to access the fuel pump and verify everything was OK with the fuel pump connector and wiring. A possible water short in the connector had to be ruled out.

Picked up my car today and talked to the tech. Once the pump was out the tech found internal loose connections to connector pins causing the error codes plus a false reading that the fuel sensor was bad. Since the sensor is part of the fuel pump assembly, it ended up being replaced as well. No more engine check light.

Had the exact same problem with a brand new 2018 with less than 100 miles on it. Went back n and they cleared the codes and said it was just old codes that should have been cleared!! A week later the codes were back. This time they ended up keeping it a week and replacing the fuel pump.
