Engine burning rich?

Car: '92 240sx fastback redtop sr20det

I have a '92 nissan 240sx with a redtop sr20det. It does excellent on gas mileage but whenever I shut my car off and get out i find a nasty black stain just above my exhaust tip. I know however that it does not smoke while i drive it. It also did the same thing when i had my KA motor..what could be wrong?

turbo engines all have a decent amount of dirty exhaust nothing new i don't run rich but i still have the black residue. not as noticeable since my cars black but still there
