Dropped the engine off at the shop yesterday. Getting it built up for turbo set up. Here is a few pics of it getting torn down.

valve cover off.

all apart and heading to the machine shop

Should be back at my house in 2 weeks so I can have the joy of swapping it into my '90 hatch.

Good to see more ATL folks on here. I hope to get back 'home' in the coming year.

What are plans for the turbo system??

She's a little too 'Southern' for me.I think that flag should be removed

turbo plans are mild boost at first, arround 6 psi with a t3/to4e, sr injectors, safc 2 or emanage, etc. to get things started until I can save up for proper engine mgmt, i.e. AEM EMS. Then running arround 300 to 350 on a day to day basis.

Left out alot of spefics, but don't have everything set in stone yet

Was originally (and still) planning on getting the block heat coated black, but after looking in the valve cover thread in the ka section, I might change my mind. Do you guy think it would e better to get a black block and valve cover, or get it coated in silver and leave the rest that way too? Just some food for thought I have been chewing on.

i would paint it a light color. it can get dirty quicker, but when its clean you'll be able to see any leaks better.

check out what my motor looks like painted silver.......http://www.project-mayhem04.com

Well this picture might explain why FedEx is talking so long to deliver my pistions and clutch. I can think of nothing better for them to have done for the FOUR days it took my package to move all of 15 miles, and sadly, neither can they.

Yeah, so two weeks has come and gone. This tuesday will mark the 4 week point. I am so fuggin pissed. All I get back from the shop is excuses why it is taking so long. I even find out my pistons were not ordered until after almost two weeks after I dropped it off.I was promised the engine in two weeks. The he gave me his word it would be in friday, that was yesterday. Now he says the first of the week. I dont know what to do. But I am 100%sure I wont be spending anymore money there.

The worst part is driving by my 240 every day, where it has sat for the last month. I haven't even driven it once. All my friends asking about it doesn't make me feel any better.

Off to go play some counterstrike to relieve some tension, because 11:35 isn't exactly the best time to go shooting my walther P99!

Hahah good to see you know the correct way to let off a little "steam", no pun intended. If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for all the machine shop work, minus all the aftermarket parts you bought for it? Im trying to get a good idea of how much Im going to spend on getting that sort of thing done to an engine.

NOT trying to jack the post at all, but if anyone knows a good machine shop in Texas, around the San Antonio area, PLEASE shoot me an email. Hopefully a shop that has done work on 4 cylinders before, and even more preferably a KA24DE.

Good luck with the build dude, itll be done before you know it
