Going to pull my motor out tomorrow due to cylinder #2 having low compression and blowing oil out the valve breather. I was thinking about just replacing the longblock but dont want the same thing to happen, plus I bought a bigger turbo (PTE 6765). I was thinking of building a 25/26 (rb25 head/rb26 rotating assembly) but cant find a GTR crank at reasonable price. Im not going for a zillion HP but would be happy with 600. So...

At least 86.5mm
GTR conrods w/ARP bolts
Wiseco Pistons 9:1
ARP headstuds
Metal HG
N1 oil pump
Stock head w/Poncams

Anything im missing or should be aware of on doing a rebuild?

Crank collar
Front and rear main seals
Valve springs
Valve seals

Why valve springs? Thought the pon cams where drop ins with no other valve train modifications?

To get to 600HP, you're going to want to increase the rev limiter and valve springs are cheap insurance against valve float. Pon cams ARE a drop-in but I'd put a set of springs in there while I had the cams out anyways. Plus, every RB owner should have the joy of re-installing the valve retainer clips.
