Hi there,
I have kept close track of my eficiency for the past 2 years since purchasing my 08 FWD, and even though I've heard many people claim that mileage increases after extended break-in period I have not noticed an increase.
I would recommend calculating the mileage manually, don't use the capacity of the fuel tank but rather the exact volume that you put in when filling up. I have 35,000 km and I average around 9.0 L/100km in mixed driving, and I have gotten close to 7.0 with conservative highway driving in summer.
I find this vehicle's efficiency is highly dependant on driving style, if you are hard on the gas the CVT seems to choose a very low gear resulting in high rpms for extended periods. I find the opposite is true if you consistently drive with a light foot, the CVT will kick into high gear very early, usually by the time I hit 20 km/hr accelerating from a stand still the CVT has already selected the very high gear ratio and the rpms plunge to around 1200 where they stay all the way up to 50-60 kph. Also, there is a huge difference in highway mileage between say 100 kph and 130 kph.
