I've searched a bit, but finally decided to post my own.

I have a 1993 240sx with the stock engine - bought it for 500 bucks, and we replaced the clutch master cylinder to get it running. One we got it running we noticed that it bogs down when its under 2k rpms - almost like it wasnt running on all cylinders. So we went and replaced the spark plugs, wires, and the fuel injectors to see if that would fix the problem. No luck, however - it still seems like its choking under 2k rpms.

I was putting it into first at a stop on a hill, and notice that no matter how much gas I gave it - the rpms wouldnt go up, until I got up the hill and it bumped itself above 2k - then shifted to second and it almost stalled out on me.

when we manually rev it from the engine bay we can hear a little "click" right at the start. (not sure if that helps at all, but it probably isnt supposed to do that)

like I said, once its above 2k, it runs great ... but I kind of want to be able to accelerate above grandma speed.

thanks! If ya'll need any more info, let me know.

---Edit---the clutch master and slave cylinder are brand new as well ... but I dont think its the clutch's fault.

Also, I dont get a check engine light at all - the bulb/fuse isnt bad ... it just doesnt turn on as a result of the problem.

my ecu gave us a code "34" ... which is the knock sensor. Now ... we cant seem to find the knock sensor. Its not where the FSM says its supposed to be.

I was going to suggest timing was involved or EGR so that makes sense....not sure where else it could be other than the lower back side of the intake manifold...

we found it ... it was underneath the manifold, but my dirty engine made it hard as heck to see. (thank god for the forum's tutorials) I had to follow the wires to find it.

Too bad knock sensors arent one of those super cheap fixes. Not that expensive, but not 30-40 bucks either.
