Well, some of you know the situation with my wiring harness, some of you dont. so here is a brief synopsis.

STM did my wiring, I dont know if it works. (cant get to tucson to work on the car) the #2 harness, or alternator harness off the RB dosent plug into the 240 fuse box.

a good friend who did a RB-240 swap (opensource on here) told me its not necessary to run the harness to the fuse box. only the power wire off the harness to the box.

can anyone confirm or deny this?

I will check how Idid mine a little later today, I believe you can use the KA lower harness with the RB motor and remove that issue altogether.

I agree. Use the KA alternator harness with the KA PS switch, fuse box connections, etc. You have everything you need right at your F3 connector (this is a 1997, correct?). No need to use the RB lower harness.

FWIW, I just posted my notes for wiring up the RB20 in an S14 here. However, I am waiting for an oil pan, so this has not yet been tested. Also, although this diagram works for the R32 RB26, I am not sure about the RB25. IIRC, the RB25 has a few things such as an FICD valve that the R32 engines did not have.

i used the lower harness from the Ka and switched out the 2 sensors that didn't plug in from the KA transmission to the RB transmission.

IIRC, the RB20 knock sensors are part of the engine harness and need no changes.

I don't know how it goes on the RB25... if you know where those knock sensors tie into the ECU you can make up new wiring and run them through the engine harness to the ECU.

the knock sensors have a separate harness, they are just taped into the RB lower harness, so you can just cut the tape and plastic coiling and it plugs into the engine harness, then you can use the KA lower harness and have the knock sensor harness plugged in, without modification.

But as you said, you dont have the lower harness at all, so... there should be other Nissans that have similar plugs for knock sensors so if you can get those plugs you can wire them into the RB engine harness, the wires are clear and look like speaker wire.

the KA's alternator harness does not plug into the RB's ECCS harness so rewiring of more than just the knock sensors would be necessary..

thats just one other thing i found, STM, the assclowns they are, have said they "forgot" to send the adapter plugs to make the RB alternator harness work with the KA fuse box.

the adapters get here tommrow, we will see what happens.
