Ok, I've seen this ducting stuff on quite a few japanese cars. And I know its for intake/brake ducting. Just wondering where I can get some, maybe even a home depot sort of thing?

Theres more in a magazine I have but I assume everyone knows what I'm talking about.

I read something about it a while back, theres something special about it that makes it different than the stuff they sell at home depot, but i forget what it was.

i think it had something to do with what its made of, either strength or heat resistance or something.

I've seen it used for guiding air to the intake, which is what I planned on using it for... So I'm guessing a trip to home depot is in the near future.

nice, I plan on doing this as well if I can find a way to route the pipe towards the intake.

i got the heater tube thing from home depot, have it in the right side of the pignose bumper and up through the hole where the hot pipe would be if it were turbo, works good and i speed tested it to 100mph, still good

Several others and I in Austin have this sort of thing on our 240's for the intake. It helps alot to get colder air to the otherwise fairly closed off engine bay. I bought the piping at home depo. Yeah its thin, but it hasnt ripped yet and cost about 3 bucks. The piping i used is pretty large cause I wanted to have nearly all of the air that enters the front air dam to make it to the engine bay. At speed, Im sure this helps out alot. You must remove the intake airbox resonator in order to do this modification. Heres my cardomain.... Yeah it looks ghetto, but whatever, it works.

hope this helps

My autotech teacher had a audi 4000, for his beater that he did something like this. He took a dawn bottle and cut the bottom half off and attached radiator hose to where the soap would come out. He then ran that into his intake and zip tied the bottle under the front bumper, and put metal screen over the opening and there ya go, home made engine bay ducting!
