Hello,

I have 90 240sx f/b with a ka24e and whenever I shift the engine back fires. I also reved the engine when it was parked and reved, then it back fired when I released the gas. I had my friend to it and you could smell the gas from the exhaust so I know that I am running rich. My question is how do I go about fixing this problem? Because it is killing my gas mileage.

thanks,

lok

ps I have change my fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter since I bought the car a month ago.

could be a number of things. Check coolant temp sensor, wires, cap rotor, and o2 sensor for starters.
