So my engine and my transmission sit at a diagonal angle. Its nothing extreme, maybe 5 degrees, but theres no way in hell i would hook my driveshaft up to it and drive it like that

heres a picture to explian what im talking about

So i already tried loosening the bolts from both engine mounts and the crossmember and shaking and pushing it to get it straight, but it wont budge. If it makes a difference, they are nismo mounts all around. Some guys on the local forum were saying the nismo mounts are garbage, but i dont see how the mounts made off nissans performance division are "garbage" compared to megan or home made mounts.

Anyways, i wanted to take off my crossmember and flip it around to see if it made a difference, but i dont have a jack that goes high enough at the moment, so once i get it off its gonna be pretty damn hard to get back on, hopefully tomorrow i can get a friend to help me with that. But this is how the corssmember sits right now

if anybody knows off the top of their head if thats on right or if its on backwards, that would be greatly appreciated :gapteeth:

I also figured it could be that the engine mounts are on backwards, but im pretty sure they are both the same. I will try that if the crossmember doesnt work, but i have no idea how im gonna be able to do that with the engine still in the car

Does anybody have any other ideas on why it would be sitting like that?

Crossmember will only fit one way. Maybe slot the transmission mount holes and slide it over to line it up? And the mounts are the same on each side.

I don't see a problem. Unless your front crossmember is not bolted in right (very hard to do), your car is rusty so the front is tweaked, or the motor mounts are broken, i dont see how the motor set can be missaligned.

I will check my s13 soon, but I think your making something out of a very small issue.

Well as you said, it makes no sense that the motor would sit like this and not budge, so it is an issue. Driving it like that seems like it would just be asking for a lot of wear on my driveline and replacing more parts than neccesary

we had the same problem when we installed cusco mounts on my friends s14. A couple people said that you have to force it in place and tighten everything down or something? I dunno. I hope this gets figured out

idk, to me that seems ilke a dumb idea.

i would loosen your crossmember and pry it forward on the driverside or backward on the passenger side. We do it all the time where i work to straighten caster on alot of the newer gm cars. same might apply here. But just loosen it, dont take the nut off obviously. i forgot to add that while your prying on it have someone impact the crossmember bolts tight. All of them
