Forum readers, I have a question. I have a 2008 Versa and it is due for its first oil change. My Nissan dealer gave me a maintenance schedule, and they want to add BG MOA oil additive to the oil, also they want to add BG CF5 fuel system cleaner to the gas tank. Does anyone know if the Nissan warranty allows the use of additives?? I certainly don't want to void the warranty. I would appreciate any useful information on this matter!! Thanks

They're likely not very necessary, given the quality of gasoline detergents and additives already present in oil. If you do decide to have the dealership add them, make sure they put it in writing on the order invoice/receipt that the additives will not disrupt the factory (or extended if you have one) warranty.

Additives = bad in all circumstances. Your manual clearly states not to use them. If you're dealer is wanting to put them in, I would question the integrity of their work. Your car does not need them at all and you should avoid using them..

I agree, there is no need to use them and risk voiding your warrenty, or damaging your car in some way.
