yeah, i almost bought some restore today but i have already tried the SEAFoam stuff. It did exactly what it said. IT smoked like a train for a bit. it stoped in a few mins, but it just seems to me that if the bottle says its going to smoke then is it really doing something or just making smoke.

Unless youre experiencing leaks or blowing blue smoke, additives arent really a good idea. Rislone and CD2 are two decent brands of concentrated detergents that can help clacking lifters and other strange noises. But my suggestion is a machine engine flush. Even Jiffy Lube offers a Bilstein Engine Flush for $80. They plug this thing into your engine that looks like Rosie from The Jetsons, and half an hour later youre done.

I did it on my 1995 Mazda 626 I4 5-spd, with 250,000 miles, which seemed to rev smoother and the lifter noise was quieter afterwards. To fully resolve my lifter problem in that situation, I needed a new oil pump.

Also look into something called B12 Chemtool. Wal-Mart carries it for $4, and I use it to keep my injectors and fuel system clean. You can also pour it in the crankcase. As always, READ THE DIRECTIONS!

you can find seafoam in most parts stores, it comes in a funky looking can though instead of your typical plastic bottle, if I remember right it's in a red and white can that looks like a shaving cream can

I have yet to actually use it

I was wondering about the Engine RESTORE stuff, I keep seeing the commercials. As for that tornado thing, I would be too worried about something breaking and going into the intake, like with electric turbos*gasp*.

Tornado does NOT work.Is a scam.I had one in a 91 Q i once bought from previous owner i just went ahead and threw it away.

Generally engine treatment OTHER THAN DETERGENTS simply dont do anything either and often do harm.

Duralube ,slick50, Zmax are all scams do absolutely nothing and slick50 like many ptfe additives likely does harm.

CD2 seafoam bg44k etc are not scams but various types of deteregents which sometimes give u a good effect if porperly used.

I think the tornado thing is more beneficial on a turbo car. Example : I was at the tracks some time ago and there was this guy with a turbo isuzu impluse. He wanted to race my 240. I said your on. He then proceeded to hand my a$$ to me with a 14.6 et. He told me that he just installed the tornado. I told him "you bought that crap". He said ''No man it really works". I said "prove it'. So he took it out and ran two passes of 15.1 and 15.0. Then he put it back in and immediately ran a 14.6 again!! A .4 gain is pretty significant for 70 dollars. I was sold. So I bought one and it didn't give me crap ( I'm NA) but I didn't lose anything either ( just $70) LOL!~!@!

I know it sounds off, but if I hadn't seen it with my own eye's I wouldn't be posting it. It was right in front of the throttle body. I have also TRIED it and I now know it doesn't work for me yet. We will see when I get boosted. Then I will talk crap. btw...What does /TCU stand for??

not if you use it sparingly.. like 3/4 of a gallon and the rest 91 octane. Makes for good boostin'. What about ethanol or toulene? I haven't tried those.
