I just got a tuneup on my car and now it`s running worse than before. I think the mechanic put single platinum plugs in my car . Is there a spark plug that anybody would recommend. My car is a 99 Q45 base model. Help please.

While a "double platinum" plug will have a LONGER life, the plugs your mechanic installed are NOT the reason you are having a engine sputtering problem- common issue is the coil packs on this generation Q.

If your "mechanic" did not use the specified NGK PFRG11 plugs, have him take them out and replace with the correct plug, Autolites, Champions and Bosch plugs have all been documented to be fatal to the VH series engines.

I'm with Maxnix - OEM NGK plugs are a must-use. The manufacturer specifies them for a reason...

Was this ever solved? My engine was idling rough when warm. I replaced ignition coils all the way around. and got alot better. I noticed Autolite double platinum spark plugs, I replaced them all with NGK PFR5G-11 plugs. It idles kind of rough again after warm.

Miles? Maintenance history? New fuel filter annually (more often in CA-AZ-NV)?
