Has anyone swapped out their oem bushings on their s13 for the energy suspension set-up ? If so was it difficult and how long did it take you? Thanks!

I have the ES Master kit for my S14...and well theres a few factors to consider before determing your total labor time:*Skill of the mechanic*Tools*Methods

I've heard of people taking more than 10 hours to complete...but If i were you i would do it in sections. Thats what im currently doing....

i just ordered my case today.do it in sections and if u can get to use a hoist grab some friends a case of beer and do them all in a day if you canthe bushings are urethane and almst indestructible. the new bushings will save wear and tear and tighten her up in steering and body roll... 2 thumbs up if u do it.just take the time and do it right. Subframe bushing will take 3 hours at least from uninstal to reinstal with help. just grab a torque wrench and a FSM and put it together the right way.

its good to change the bushings every 10 years atleast anyhow. id lastly say. get new sway bar link kits for front and rear and do a check on all other components when installing the bushings. not to often do people get inside the underworkings of thier car for an inspection. i just noticed my rear swaybar link was snapped today and the other is looking pretty rough.... ive had the car a month and never thought to check... hmmmm wonder how my ball joints are.... GoodLuck man. take your time and do what your Wallet will let you well you have the parts dissassembled.

a good way to check if you due for a change is visually look at the bushing if it looks dry and cracked change it. easiest one to see is the rear sway bar links bushings so check those out.

urethane bushings are pretty stiff. at least as far as you want to go. you need that flex to prevent wear on the steel parts. so really when a $5 dollar bushing goes you thing "Damn" but if it was the $90 torque rod attached to it you would say something a little more aggressive. trust me energy bushings are the way to go man. if you want a tighter body then upgrade your chassis with stronger arms, some braces and a multitude of other performance steering and suspension parts (i recommend strut bars and under body braces as a start)

how about "white line" bushigns?

I was looking at these control arms...http://www.pdm-racing.com/prod....html

I know, "you just replace them with the engergy's" but im going to get mulit link pieces but put new busings on the ones I dont get. So this would be easier. New balljoints, bushings...but are the bushings good?

i dont know enough about tem to say for sure. but in the end. they should be the same urethane bushings. in my opinion. get the parts put them on. inspect your ball joints every 5K and if they get worn get energy. i would just buy the kit and swap all i could and save the ones for control arms that are whiteline for spares.

thanks man. So in the end whiteline and energy are the same - urethane.

I just replaced all my bushings with the energy ones. I was a ***** i used a hydraulic press for everything and wouldn't have done without it. I had to use a hack saw, torch, hammer, and a punch to get the metal collars out, Or you can use the press. Just takes time.

There's a guy who won the ROTM with his LS1 S14... He's using SPL's Aluminum bushings...

Here's a review of them... zerothread?id=101842

Personally, I bought the Energy bushings, like a year ago but never got around to installing them. I'd never thought to just do it in sections. That was a really good idea...
