I finally got a free weekend to install my new Endura-Tech coilovers along with Cusco RUCAs and SPL subframe and differential bushings. Wow does the car handle like an entirely different animal.

My stock suspension with 120k miles on it, was pretty much stuffed and didn't dampen very well anymore. So, Justin at Endura-Tech hooked me up with a set for my S14, and they took me one night to install after work. Soooo easy your little sister could do it if she knew how to use a jack and socket wrench.

The goal for this car is to be versitile because I can't afford to have separate cars setup for drag, street, and auto-x. Therefore, I didn't want a suspension that was too stiff, but I wanted the tuned-dampening and adjustability of coilovers. The 7k/5k spring rates are PERFECT! The bumps are handled with a firm thud and not a smash followed by interior rattles as I have ridden in an S14 with coilovers from another VERY popular brand.

Two of my buds saw the suspension components and immediately commented on how beefy the lower shock bodies were. These are the first coilovers that I've owned, so I didn't know any different. I love them so far!

Anyways, here are a few pics of everything installed and as it sits in my garage tonight.

Yep I love the ease of adjusting them and you can see I still have a ton of room for some 10s out back. The front is a little tighter though. Might have to stick with 9s with a low offset.

Very nice. Curious tho, how is the spring perch being locked? By screws? Just wondering cuz if they were locked by screws wouldn't it damage the thread.

They have an allen head set screw that clamps the perch. It doesn't touch the threads.

I LOOOOVE my Endura-Techs!

Thanks for the input a$$hat. A real thread-progresser there. Do you have anything positive to say to anyone in this forum? Oh yeah...my bad: everyone should run 215s on 10-inch wheels. Forgot about that golden nugget of advice.

Well he does have a point man, so lets wait a couple months and see what you think! I bet you'll still love them, I know Greg does.

not in this instance, no

Your saying your completley thrilled with something that you haev no clue how it performs, or how it should perform.YOu have nothing to base anything off of really, yet you post something that anyone should know how to do. I know your excited, but if your gonna do a thread like this, wait a few months then do it.

^ not a bad point. I try real hard to find fault with the "Fun Sponge's" posts, but he's right.

I was expecting an "OMG thos r teh junk n00b!" post here, and didn't see it.

They're a solid, well-built coilover, and they're my 3rd set. Probably not ideal for everyone, but they do what I want them to do better than my two previous fitments.

Time will tell how they perform over the long haul and in a track environment.

Touche (with an accent in there somewhere). I'll try to put it through some paces before the snow flies and give an update later. I still like the street ride better than my buddy's Stance though.

do you plan on tracking your car? or is this a purely street driven vehicle?

i think those low spring rates are goign ot hurt you rperformance wise personally

It is mostly driven on the street with 4 or more trips to the drag strip during the summer. I am going to get to an auto-x event next spring once I get my engine modifications installed and tuned this winter. I need to brush up on my suspension tuning theory since I haven't looked at it in a few years. I've been 100% focused on the motor swap and rebuild.

Glad to hear you got them installed Darius. We appreciate your and everyones comments on here in regard to the Endura-Tech coilovers.

Let me know if there is anything you need.

For everyones reference, we have these S14 with other spring rates too, such as 8/6, 9/7 and 10/8 all valved accordingly. However, for the S13 we currently only carry 7/5.

Thanks.

Justin

Yokota180SX, in the case of the rear, what spring rate did you want?

Yokota180sx-

Sorry I hadn't responded sooner. We are pretty busy this time of year with SEMA and preparing for 08. You request 10K in the front and 8k in the rear?

You stated that you need S13 front and S14 rear is that right? I have the 8K rears for the S14, however, the front S13 we only have 7kg springs on the front coilovers. Our replacement springs only go as high as 9K, if you wanted to swap those out, however the 9K may be too much spring for the valving of the 7K S13 front coilover, so the adjustability of the dampening may be overpowered by the spring rate.

Based on your common knowledge of suspension (as I gather from you posts) you may see the conflict with this.

If you meant differently, let me know.

I am not familiar with the 300zx rear (as we do not have an application for it). Does it use an S14 rear?

The lower mount of the 300zx rear uses a fork style mount.

i dont know too much about spring rates but lets say for an all around driven s13(drift, autox, drag), what would you guys say would be an appropriate spring rate front/rear coilover to have? and enduratech how much for a set of coilovers for the s13? 1500.00 is this correct?

Well, if there comes a time when we can offer you something else on another project of yours let us know.
