I read over some tips and warnings in the old posts. Among a list item 5 by Wes (elwesso) Wed Dec 27, 2006 7:34 pm suggested:

" The OEM bushings are fine for a while but if you want to you can run poly.. I have poly end links on mine from energy suspension, they're the 1 in links, ES part number 9.8122 . Cost is about $20 for the set. You can run the ES poly frame bushings too if you want... Would save a bit of money and all you would have to get is some bolts and the bar itself...."

I don't see this end links will fit into anywhere. does it means using the poly bushings from the links only to replace OEM bushings?

By the way, I got the 1st gear shifting TCU from Heath to replace mine and it works out nicely.
Wonder if the original (31036 64U10) a problematic one. Thanks.

These are for the rear sway bar, they connect each end to the lower control arms. Do you have a rear sway bar? If you have a base q then you dont have one. If you can get one from an active car, but one from a 't' will work too. Make sure you get the mounting bracket and bolts.

Thanks for the info.

Mine is a base model, so is anyone has one like to get rid of or where I can get one? What year model range would be compatible? Year model range for the "t" also? Would an aftermarket mounting brackets and bolts work?

Thanks again.

The "ideal" combination is swapping in both front and rear bars from an Active Q. Dirt cheap upgrade if you can find a set in a yard like www.pullapart.com

I've found a pair (from a '93 Q45a) on its way from Arizona for $100 shipped. Hope they didn't stick me with some from just any cars. Once I had some one sent me a piece of junk part that fits nowhere and it would take too much time, money and trouble to return it. So I just tossed it in the garbage.

I also located a '94 in the Pullapart lot less then 2 hrs away but their answering machine is not helpful, so I have to go there to make sure some time. Are their any soon needed parts I should go ahead and get it while I am their checking out?

The bars arrived yesterday. The front is the exact same as the existent one; so I have an extra now. lol
I just installed the rear bar and the turns feel much confident. I like it.

Neither brackets are coming from no where but better then none. Just grind them to fit.

The bar is about 17 or 19mm; didn't measure. Smaller then expected.

The job was pretty simple and the end links looks nice.

Thanks again for the suggestion.

Check the diameter of that front bar... it should be 80mm vs. the 90mm one that came on your car. They will look almost identical...

You are right; they are different. One is 28mm and the one on my car is 29mm but I am not going to mass with it until I replace the shocks in near future since there is only a mm in different. I have all the end links and new bushings ready swapping or not. So you sounded as it is better to have a smaller one?

The rear bar measured 15 mm. How surprising that it makes the car feels a ton lighter.

Sorry for the small pics which I don't think anyone has good enough eyes to see it including myself. I post them anyway. :chuckle:

Sorry to hijack this topic a little. But does anyone know the part numbers for the Polyurethane bushings and end links for a 20 MM rear bar?

I got a pair of Moog K90583 supposedly fit a Q45 for my rear bar as shown in pic above, but the bar ended up 15 mm. If the ID measurement is not exactly 20 mm, it is a 1/2 mm off as I measured it. I will let you have it cheap if you are interested.

Are they rubber or polyurethane?

looks like rubber.

For polys, here is a link to most of the specs of Energy Suspension products: http://energysuspension.com/assets/file ... atalog.pdf

But Prothane seems more options of sway bar bushings. I just ordered some 15 mm.

Here is a pair of poly looks like would fit:

Hope this helps.
