Alright guys, Its that time of the bi-year for me and I went to get smogged... And my results came out bad... I know the CA runs rich.. but this bad?

Mine | State legalHydrocarbon 3.47 | 1.00Carbon Monoxide 90.49 | 12.00Oxide of Nitrogen 0.41 | 2.50

I got a CA18 with a Trust intake, HKS SSQV and a Silvia 2.5" exhaust... What can I do to bring it down... Also I got a fail for one of the hoses not being connected to the charcoal canister... My engine bay seems like a mess to me and I dont know the factory locations of anything. Can anyone tell me how I can bring those things down and perhaps help me pass?

Leaning it out with a SAFC is the only way I have heard to beat emissions without an inside man...

connect all the emission deals. are you running a cat or a test pipe?

connect the charcoal canister correctly, lean it out some, and hook up 3 catylitic converters. Hehehe

ditch the bov if not recirc... it may leak some at idle / when not supposed to and make you run a tad more rich; i know many stock recircs do..

Definitely lean it out. IIRC those low Nitrogen numbers are indicative of fairly cold combustion temps, and with the high Hydrocarbons it seems like a rich mix would be your culprit. I'll go look up what the high CO indicates.

Edit: How old is your cat?

Sorry guys...thanks for the help, net was down Couldnt check this forum... But I have a 3yr old cat... no test pipe... I ditched the BOV and connected the Charcoal canister, it dropped the CO2 to 55ish... could it be my O2 sensor? And do I need a SAFC to lean it out?

you could upgrade to a high flow randomtech or similar cat, which on my KA gave me almost no emissions, nd yes it can be the o2 sensor too.

Anyone know the Part # for the O2 sensor? The parts sticky is way gone...
