I've been looking to import a Nissan Skyline into the U.S. since I found out about them, so I read and studied all the importation crap that went along with it. Then, I hit a road block that seems not to have any detailed information, and the info from the CARB regulation in Cali is so convoluted and confusing (at least to me) it's not even funny, the emissions test required for the RB26 to be street legal. If this has already been discussed, I apologize for the redundancy. Anyhow, I'd greatly appreciate explanations on the FTP test procedure and how it works, because it can't be as simple as taking it to a lab and getting the bar number after the test. Thanks for the help!

It is. You don't have the equipment to do the test. You don't have the license to do the test.

I have California tested, and got BAR labels for GT-R's when I was at MotoRex.

FTP on an RB is very difficult. No EGR. No air pump. Engine is fine for a smog, but FTP is a much more complicated and expensive test. Dyno time on FTP dyno is around $1500 an hour. So mods, plus dyno time, SHED testing, etc figure at least $10,000. More if you have to help a lab get a license.

Thanks for the info, I guess I was just paranoid from the stuff for importing the car.
