depends on what you have do you have OBD1 or OBD2? if you have the first, then yes youll pass.. all they do is the sniffer.. what year is your car? the older the better... there is a guy up in buford, that people go to and he is really leniant with customers, and if they dont pass, he gives them remedy's and advise to pass.. he pours like rubbing alcohol in there motors, and and other stuff like that.. hes a good guy

i dont know how diff you guys are from washington but i passed my 20 with a lil room to spare. Just before i got tested i ran a bottle of some fuel injector/octane booster cleaner ****s, dont know if it did much i usually like to run some cleaners around emissions times and just run the car hot when you get ready

This topic comes up pretty often... search for emissions in this subforum and you'll find people's experiences with it. The quick answer is it really depends on the state/county's laws, but most importantly the actual station itself/mgr on duty/emissions tester person you receive on the day you go. Sometimes they are sticklers to the rules, sometimes they won't give you a hard time and give you a waiver.

I went a little over a month ago with a catco cat, straight pipe, no silencers with my 95 obd1. Whined a little so I didn't have to get on the rollers. Did the idle test and rev test (but he didn't ask me to rev so i just let it idle the whole time during the rev portion). Numbers were pretty high but it passed.

to the OP, as long as all you have to get is the sniffer test youll pass...

if you are OBD2 might as well forget it...

96' is OBD2

You can't pass, its not just a sniffer test. It uses factory electronics to diagnose your car with possible issues.

See unfortunately the catch all when inside the United States (where there are inspections / emissions testing) is that the government mandated that all cars in the US must be OBD II compliant by 1996 and that every car that is made from 1996 on must go through the OBD II diagnostic check in order to be inspected...

However there might be some cases where this is not happening when it should and eventually those places (inspection stations) get caught and shutdown - so good luck with any car newer than 1995!

NM, I was wrong about the RB26 in R32 thing. But either way, 96 and up = motor swap = screwed (most of the time)
