Please don't flame/lock this. I've searched and searched and can't seem to get a straight answer for AZ people like me. Most threads like this are from people in Cali where it's really tough. Anyways...

If I was to swap in a CA, what all would I have to do to get it to pass smog? The people here are nowhere like Cali but they are strict on this. What emissions parts would I need to hook up? Would I need to use anything from my KA-E or from a DE? Any special tips or tricks or whatever? Some of the things I heard were seafoam and racegas whaich doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I'm just looking for a straightforward answer preferably from someone that has expereience in AZ but all are welcome.

Oh, one more thing, I don't bribe people so....yeah

well, if the ca18 is in your '89... that gives you a nice head start, because you only need to pass a sniffer test rather than an obd2 diagnostic. You sould be able to pass with a good tune and a cat.

A couple of things will get you to pass with ease and you're better off making sure these work and installed if not they fail you with just a visual also by what's supposed to be in there. First you need to make sure the charcoal canister is still in there and hooked up. Second is the most important one which is the CAT(not CA-T) but the exhaust CAT lol anywho that's the one thing out here in az that will make you or break you. If your runnin a stock setup CA then you should be fine with a new cat. None of that alcohol crap or additives. And like Chris said a tune up. Fuel Filter so it burns cleaner fuel, Oil, Air filter maybe. Plugs is another that helps too. If that doesn't work i know poeple in Az you can always bribe jk my friend good luck
