hey everyone i keep hearing about all these people in cali getting their srs registerd and smog excempt which is awesome but what about us guys in other states i live in ny and would love to find info on anyone or anyway to do this legally thanks

aslong as your SR is in a 95 or newer 240 your fine. but if its in a 96+ 240 they will run the vin number to your car and find out that that motor isn't suppose to be there. I to live in NY. just take it to a "Mom & Pop" shop and have them do the basic inspection, Horn,lights,windows,tires,whipers

In Dutchess County - 1 hour north of NYC:

OBDII vehicles ALL must be plugged in to communicate with the computer now. There may be exceptions but I don't know any.

Older than 10 years = no sniffer test, but technically must still have all OEM pollution devices in place. Visual test for this is usually very easy to pass - if it looks like it's there you are good.

yep. i would of bought a kouki but i knew i was doing a a sr swap and i didnt want to have to worry about emissions. so i bought a 95.
