I brought my car in for inspection (a 1998 model) and it failed. I recently fixed a sensor that was causing a CEL, and cleared the ECU. From when I cleared the ECU to my inspection day, I drove about 100 miles. There were several parameters that had not cleared, and the tech told me to drive the car more to get them to clear. So I drove the car from PA to OCMD and back (about 400 highway miles). When I got back, all of the same parameters for the OBD readiness had still not cleared.

From what Ive read, the readiness should set in under 100 miles. If i've driven mine 500 and it hasnt set, something tells me it isnt going to.

Is there anything I can do to set the readiness besides driving it? I'm driving without inspection now, and I dont have the money to pay a ticket. Is there a trick to it getting it to set?

i think just cause you drove x amount of miles don't set the readiness. i think it has to duplicate the condition it needs like certain rpm speed temp etc. try driving more on the streets i guess. took the smog class and can't remember crap.
