I heard rumors that the state of California was going to require a video of the smog being done .... has anybody else heard of such a thing in any other state or in California? .. California is so strict :tisk:

Really? I have not hear of this... There is a way around it if you don't plan on selling your car or at least for a while. Certain zip codes in CA only require smog upon change of ownership. Zip codes away from the cities. If you can find a friend or some one that will let you use there address and register the car there you will not have to smog it until you sell it. You may have to smog it when you re register it into that zip code but that would be a one time thing. You wont get past the a** hole cop that wants to look under your hood or under you car to see your exhaust and he may still send you to the ref and give you a fix it ticket. So maybe you keep your stock parts and swap them back if this happens. Just letting you know of this minor loop hole.

I did not know this, thanks... I don't plan on selling it. I'm too attached lol. Thats a good thing hopefully I can find someone that lives in a zip out there. Yeah people at smog shops told me about that. I have to do the STAR test on mine ... but it doesn't pass due to the catalytic converters..

Interesting is that what there calling it "STAR" lol. Well Mammoth is one of those zip codes. My brother hasn't had to smog his truck in years and I will be registering my Z up there soon. I believe there is a map of zip codes on the DMV site or you could probably just Google it.
