I recently took my 1989 240(ka24e) to the repair shop because it wouldnt pass emissions test.(For Hydrocarbons and Carbon monxide) Basically they told me my 02 sensor is burnt and keeps burning out because I have a bad cylinder. Can I replace this 02 sensor just to have it pass emissions? How long would it take to go through an 02 sensor?thanks.Mike

Well I have been told before that My car has a weak cylinder, but this was also right before I passed emissions 2 years ago. The car still runs the same. The 02 sensor however was replaced 2 years ago. Right before emissions. They (the shop) basically said the 02 sensor is burning out because of Raw fuel being passed through the exhaust manifold. Im going to replace the 02 sensor and try to pass emissions 1 more time. Also I will make sure to drive 15 minutes on the highway beforehand, which I didnt do last time.
