Emission crap under the hood

ok i have a 89 240sx fastback and ive had the recirculating exhaust hose disconnected for a while but i want to know exactly what i can remove from the engine bay that is responsible for that mechanism i guess to loose the weight of the whole thing that and im also taking off the cruise control stuff too

and please please dont reply if u dont know for sure or havnt actually done it i love my car and dont need misinformation on the process to "faadge the backet" i know theres alot of knowlegable ppl in the forum and ur all awsome but i have seen some pretty posts from certain unmentionable users

First thing is first, knowing your state would help. Certain states (California comes to mind) are horribly strict on what you remove and change under the hood.
