Emission Controls Removal

Hey Guys its a wonderful day for drifting in Wisconsin ( the joys of 2 wheel drive)I have a question regarding the benfits of removing emisssions on my 240 SX. The largest benefit I am seeing is just the appearance of a clean engine compartment but how much do you gain in perforamance / fuel economy

It felt like it gave me more pep and I felt as though it helped gas milage but that could have been me just being really optimistic...
