hello, i was taking the interior apart to do some cleaning, and I accidentally had the back sides of my two rear speakers actually TOUCHING my car, and when i went to start it,.........it DIED.!!! did i short my ECU or something?? also, i was only listening to music with the car "turned on" but not running for like 20 minutes or so, could my battery have died? i think my battery is getting pretty old, so *HOPEFULLY DEAR GOD* thats the problem!!

You can't short out your ECU through the speaker wires, they are hooked into the stereo receiver. Does the stereo still work? Does anything electric still work?

If you suspect that it's the battery, try push starting it and see if it will run off the alternator, first of all.

The only thing that would stop working on the car if the speakers terminals grounded out to the chassis, is the stereo amplifier (internal if you do not have active speaker or S14 stock 6 speaker), if this was the case the car would still start, the stereo would still turn on, and there would be no sound out of the speakers. Let me know if you still have problems.
