Try to use a difference ecu to start the car. If it does the same thing, then someone is wrong with the car. Have you tried useing the ecu on a different car to see if it does the same thing?

You should of sent your ecu to jason and let him install it, he will make sure it works!

I was in the same boat for a while, but after i got my ka-t running good, i love the torque.

Just double check everything, its probably something small, we all go through a lot of crappp because we are too anxious.

I hate to see you give up so quick. Take the board to a TV repair shop and have them check the soldering. Give Jason at E-mance a call and tell him what happened, he is a great guy and will go above and beyond to help. Make sure That you have the chips in the right direction. The little divot in the chips should both point to the 14 pin chip that was already soldered on the daughter board. But again, contact Jason at e-mance. He wants his customers to be happy.

The reason why your car was clicking was either because your friend damaged the chip while soldering, or he had a bad connection with one of his soldering points.

The proper way to do this is to unsolder the old chip which is a ***** cause its also epoxied on there so it stays preserved.

Then buy your self a ZIF socket (Zer Insertion Socket) solder that in place of the old chip.

Then you can swap chips on the go as much as you wish. You never want to apply so much direct heat to a eeprom or it will ruin it.

Iv done it my self, and you get the clicking as a result.

Something good to know. But it's too late he already gave up and planning to go sr. sad that he wont be able to feel the torque of the KA.

If you can't turbo a KAT, then going with an SR swap will be no easier. I assume you're paying for someone to do the swap for you, or else I have a feeling it will end with you giving up...again.

LOL! i can picture him going crazy. If you going sr i rather you go with s14 motor or s15, more power than s13 sr and not really a big price difference.
