I dont think anyone is running it yet, as it was JUST released as far as I know. Most of the places I saw were taking "pre-orders" only a week ago, so I think you'll have to stay tuned for real results from NICO members. Still though, the system does look nice.

most places have it in stock already, mohdparts.com for instance, they also put up screenshots and manuals so you can check out all of its menus and capablities. I really want to get it but I just dont see the need since my car is already tuned and running with the regular emanage.

I was considering the Ultimate over the emanage Blue also.$510: Main Unit$89 : three harness(NONE included, read the 'features' from mohdparts.com)

That's $600+

Now factor in tuning costs... Sure you can do a street tune and run that for a while, but anyone with any brains will have it tuned by someone who does this 5 days a week. There are a *****load* of maps and options in the Ultimate, how long do you think it would take a professional tuner, even on a dyno, to properly tune all of the features?

Typical dyno tune prices are $100-150/hr. You're looking at $5-600, EASY to tune the majority of the functions. I was quoted this price for the BLUE unit...

So for $11-1200, I'd say scrap the piggyback, and have your stock ECU tuned by a shop. Not an off-the-shelf tune, a custom ECU tune. Of course not everyone has this option, but for the same price I'd rather not be fighting signals with the ECU.

So in short, overpriced, and not very economical. I'll stand behind the Blue unit however, only because it can be found for considerably cheaper.

On a positive note however, the ultimate does have some advantagous features over the Blue unit, including better injector control.

sorry for bringing up an old thread but the ultimate also will allow you to eliminate your mafs which is goof for me b/c its one less thing to have to upgrade when i go turbo soon

Well, since we are bringing back the dead... the problem with eliminating the MAF is that the MAF is a superior system for air metering. MAP is great for measuring density on un-modified systems. And to a lessor extent still do so when tuned by a pro. But the problem is that if you change even the boost setting you will have to retune. It doesn't adjust for the actual MASS of air taken in.

You and me both. But a lot of people find that they can run the Z32 MAF w/ the SAFC.

also the reason i got e manage is because at school im gonna be able to score free dyno time so i can work on a good tune. plus i personally dont like safc they don't really make any real sense to have for me. but thats only my opinoin.
