How far away from having the adapter plate ready?

Says he's close. All I know. He's got a project thread going in the Q45 forum regarding his 5 speed transmission swap. Might get some information there.

I'm sure he'll spot this thread as well....

If it drags on much longer I will just make my own with some pig iron, a small wood fired furnace, a wooden hammer and a nail file. Would certainly be quicker
