Hello NicoClub.
I'm the proud new owner of a G37-S 6 Speed Manual Coupe. I think I'm in love with my car, guys. I bought it used just a little less than 3 weeks ago. When I was looking at cars, I was also considering a used Mercedes or a used Cadillac in the same general price range. I did a lot of comparison, and in the end I set the 'brand names' aside and just looked at the characteristics of the vehicles themselves. The performance of the engine. The interior options. The handling. etc.. And I felt the Infiniti came out on top. Not one ounce of buyer's remorse here. :)
So, you can see from the other cars I was considering that I also value comfort and a touch of 'luxury'. My G37-S came with black leather upholstery, black interior and dash, light grey/tan headliner, and a brushed aluminum or brushed stainless steel trim around the center stack/console, dash, and waistrails on the doors. The way I came about finding this forum was through internet searches on genuine wood interior trim. I want to replace the brushed metal and a couple of other choice trim pieces with genuine wood trim, but I don't much care for the OEM wood from the factory (I understand it's rosewood) as it is available for around $1200 I believe (or so I have read on the forum here). I really have my heart set on a dark brown/red walnut burl to compliment the dark interior of my car.
I just don't know much about these 'kits' like Sherwood and B&I that adhere over the top of the existing trim. they say they offer genuine wood veneers as well as 'synthetic' (which is absolutely not an option). I'm not completely sure about doing that to my car, but I can't seem to find a viable alternative.

So, my quest for information about wood trim continues so far to no avail. I'm hoping you good people here at this forum have the answers I'm looking for.
A big hello and 'how do you do' to all NicoClubers :)

I've not had a chance to take any good pictures of it yet. I've been waiting till I can get it a good thorough cleaning, waxing, and detailing before I immortalize it in photos :)
I've already ordered an aftermarket chrome wire mesh front grill (without infiniti branding), so I'll have to get some pictures done before the install for some 'before and after' shots ;)
I have big plans for this car. Some of the things I plan to do, I expect some of you to find objectionable, but that's ok, it'll give everyone something to talk about

Welcome! Glad you love the car!

Check out CARiD.com for wood trim.

A coworker bought some of their stuff for a couple of his vehicles. Really decent fit and finish, and reasonably priced to boot!

Thanks for the suggestion :)
I've been to CarID already. That's actually where I ordered the wire mesh grill I mentioned earlier. I've seen what they offer for wood dash kits. Sherwood, B&I, and Remin. They are all adhesive type kits. I went ahead and ordered a 'wood sample package' from Sherwood through CarID to get some kind of feel for their product quality. Unfortunately, B&I doesn't offer a sample package, so I wont be able to see their product before I make a choice.
Has anyone else here had firsthand experience with these adhesive kits?

I've been able to touch and see the kits that my coworker bought. If I didn't know that an Eclipse didn't come with wood, I'd of sworn it was stock. Really cool stuff, IMO. Its held up over the 7-ish years hes had a Ranger and the 4 years he's had the Mitsu. Worst comes to worst, you can order it, put on some double sided tape before removing it from the backing and see if its for you and if it isn't- return it.

Thanks for taking the time to reassure me about these adhesive veneer kits. Hearing that you've had first hand experience with one of them makes me a little more reassured of their quality.
On CarID, they offer a wood veneer kit from Remin, Sherwood, and B&I. Do you recall which one your co-worker had?

The wood kit he has is a Remin kit. Before buying he went ahead and contacted the company a few times, they sent him samples, etc. Basically, its real wood in a square like you'd find plywood, has adhesive on the back and a layer of poly on the front for protection and their machine laser cuts it out. Says its comes with application tools, instructions, etc and is really easy to work with. Says you don't need the tools if you're really careful.
