I'm being told that the elite warranty on the transmission is good up to 70,000 or the end of the warranty...WHICH EVER COMES FIRST. I thought the purpose of the warranty is to guarantee anything it covers for the entire term of the warranty. Can anyone confirm this?

I don't have the elite warranty mostly because my warranty covers more parts and lasts longer. For instance mine (CarMax) is for a total of 72 months from date of purchase OR a total of 125,000 miles - whichever comes first. There are no mileage caps on individual parts of the car - all the covered parts have those same limits. If your warranty states 70,000 miles, then the entire warranty ends at that mileage regardless of the end date of the warranty.
Perhaps Infiniti sets specific limits on specific parts?

I think that's bad info.

If you purchase the warranty when your car is at 70,001 miles and you buy an additional 29,999 warranty miles...it covers whatever it covers for those 29,999 miles/time period). Never heard of certain parts expiring at a set mileage regardless of how long your warranty is.

I hate warranties. They're a pain in the butt. There's always something you have to fight for.

I've never had to fight for anything with my Elite warranty. I drive into Lia Infiniti in Latham, NY...give them a list of things to fix, and walked out not spending a penny (with my 07 - my 2011 is a $100 deductible which my service writer agreed to leave my ticket open so to speak so I only pay it once across multiple visits).

Every dealer is different...but mine + my elite = no stress. And I get a loaner every time I ask for one free of charge.

It seems the person I was speaking to was unaware, but the transmission is covered.

With that said, Pepe Infiniti is the worst as far as taking care of issues as far as I am concerned. They are so quick to blame things on after market parts, incorrectly diagnose issues, not see issues, and simply not follow up. Incompetent service department. I took my car to Ramsey and they found and fixed every issue I had, even found things I reported to Pepe over a year ago that Pepe said was "normal"...apparently not too normal because the issue is gone now.

That said, my warranty is done today, anybody have suggestions on aftermarket warranties? My elite warranty paid for itself 3x over, so I think it's prudent to get another warranty if one is available.

How many miles on your car? At a certain point you'll be paying a lot for a warranty cause they go by mileage.

Might still be feasible to get it but it'll probably cost you $2k for like 24 months.
