yes, you would not need the boost solenoid after you install a MBC or EBC.

You can actually run a direct line from the turbo compressor outlet (you have to make a nipple) and to the wastegate actuator and it will still run 7~8 psi.

Running the boost control solenoid properly runs the SR at about 12-13psi.

so that means that the 205hp rating on the engines is on 12-13 psi?

I'd love to provide a pic but I haven't had the boost solenoid on my car at all since I swapped in the sr. It's not needed.

The 205 hp figure is at the flywheel on 7 or 8 psi. If your running a stock boost solenoid and your car runs 12-13 psi, it's not working.

Actually it is running properly at 13psi. People running 7 just short change themselves.

The SR came with the boost control solenoid for a reason. If the SR's in the US without boost control solenoids run 7 psi normally, then why would Nissan put in a pressure controller to keep it at 7?

Nobody who has hooked up the stock boost control solenoid and was not throwing any ECU codes has stayed at 7 lbs. 7 lbs was probably started by heavy throttle since they probably did not hook it up on their first SR swaps. Then they made that FAQ which basically turned into a bible for SR's.
