Welcome to NICO nicolla13!

You posted to the correct place.

Have you or anyone else done any electrical work recently on your Q45?

When BCU fails, usually there is no shorting.

It usually costs at least $3K to restore a later G50 even if the transmission doesn't need repair right away. I think you are on about schedule, although you don't detail your previous maintenance.

$2,000 is peanuts on a newly acquired 14 year old used lux V8 car, we warn perspective buyers to plan on $3,000* assuming the paid expert prebuy $200 inspection shows Good- Excellant [nothing unusal wrong**].

Luckily the 1994 is the most reliable of the 90-96 series but body control modules and data links give many fits.

*Based on MSRP parts and $85 per shop hour.

** We have seen excellant paint and interior Q that need $10,000 in repairs where it cranks , drives, and most things kinda work [to the untrained {typical car buyer} eye].

Remember used cars are sold because the owner gets the bad news that the car needs serious work and decides to dump it.

If it turns out that the BCM is the problem I have on if you need it.

BCM = Body Control Module

do you have an aftermarket stereo system or alarm? remote start or things like that could be screwin up your electrical system.

Or even a spilled soda on the center console?
