I got my kit ordered from IAP.I've been reading past threads and online and more I read the more confused I get. At the moment I only want around 250rwhp. What do I need as far as electronics.I got a set of sr injectors and I'm buying a set of tomei 555cc injectors. From the chart it shows that the SR's will work but should I use the tomei anywayz? Was going to get SAFC but then started to read about greddy's E-manage.But seems like if I'm going to get the emanage mine as well get the profec with it.That's $800 but eliminates my need for a boost controller and it controls ignition.I believe I read if I go this route there is no need to upgrade my MAFS to Z32? I'm wanting to know if the SAFC will work fine with my car at the 250rwhp mark. Will I need to get wideband on it?This is a stock KA..Right now I want to get this car tuboed and then by end of summer have enough up to swap an sr in my vert or leave it alone and go back to my project of putting a vg in my other hatch. So trying to save funds.Thanx for your help

if you get the greddy pressure sensor then you wont need a z32 maf.

if you want to tune on the street then you need a wideband. if you are only goin to tune at the dyno then you dont need one.for 250rwhp street tunning is the best idea

the safc will work firn for 250rwhp but after that you need to control timing. the emanage would be a great way to go, you really dont need the profec. plus for 250rwhp it should only take 9psi or so which a standard wastegate spring will work so no need for a boost controller at that point

I take it you must have a DE, instead of the E I saw you mention was in your garage.=)

K that's kinda what I gathered. So anything above 250rwhp need to get something better than SAFC.And if I don't go to dyno then get a wideband.Hmm only dyno around here that I know of only gives RWHP and that's it.Structure which injectors should I use?Show that 370 are right next to the limit think it was 274hp.

I got a SOHC in my shed and I got one that should be running in my project but having trouble, no fuel. Was going to take next door on 10 acres of field and have some fun.But yes this is related to the DE.

370s are maxed at right at ~250rwhp.

370/10.5 = 35.2 lbs/hr

(35.2 x 4 x 0.95)/.55 = 243rwhp as the safe max (95% duty cycle)...but you can push them to 100% with no problems, and squeeze ~250 out of them.

So AFC + 370cc injectors, and set the base timing back a couple derees will get you to 250rwhp safely.

ANYTHING more and you need timing control...eManage will do it, but a tuned ECU is a better option IMO.

You have the 370's now... which will be good for the 250 whp mark.. If u plan on passing the 250 whp mark, then YES get the 555cc inj...

for the 250 whp.. the afc will do just fine.

for the 550s, the setting on the safc will vary as to what ur a/f's are reading from the dyno/wideband. I personally have the SR's right now and i can tell you without a doubt that i wish i had bigger injectors at the moment. The only three things that will every limit your power is injector size, MAF, and whats controlling your timing and injectors...................

he didnt mean the SAFC is only good up to 250hp, he only meant that the e-manage will probably be a better choice because of the timing control option you get. they both have the same protentiol controlling fuel wise but i guess you get a lil more out of your money to buy an e-manage

I know the SAFC can be used past 250, but from most threads I've read wouldn't use past that point. Because timing becomes a big factor after that point and you need another type of device to monitor, to be safe.

yeah thats true...people either use another device or retard the base timing a whole lot depending on how much boost..just wanted to make sure you know people still make a lot of power the SAFC

good luck on your decision

the msd btm could be used with a safc to control timing. i think wdracing mentioned he had one, could be wrong though.

also the safc can be used w/ injectors that are double stock size which would be ~540cc give or take. but then again your still stucj with waht t do about ignition/timing.

yes you can just set the hotwire to 5in and 5 out if your running stock ECU...set to 4cyl with the arrow pointing up, set the throttle to about 20%--60% and you should be good. i was fine running without setting the dec air settings so it shouldnt effect your NA daily driving.
