Electronic Timing vs. Mechanical Timing

I know that the 15 BTDC and i did all that but

i have talked to people and they always refer to "locking electrical timing" like say if they are using a AEM they will do the mechanical timing adjustment then they will lock the electrical time at the certain base time and then from there they can tune the ignition maps accordingly

so does this make since

is there away or method on the SRs

They are refering to setting the "base" timing which is what you did. When you unplug the tps to set the timing it stops adding or subtracting to the base timing so that you can get it set properly.
