Hi all,

Right now I'm running a homemade "joe p" style manual boost controller.

For the past couple of days, It has been really hot.But today, I noticed something strange.I didnt touched anything in my engine bay and I'm only running 0.4 bar instead of 0.5 bar as its supposed to be.Yesterday, it still boosted 0.5 bar. I'm not sure why, but a friend of mine told me that this is expected if you're running lower boost in a hot day as opposed to a cool night.I also noticed that I'm spooling much slower today.

So I've come to a conclusion, maybe its time for me to get an electric boost controller.Do you guys know which brand of boost controller that has a built in turbo timer?I dont wanna buy 2 different stuff separately if I can just get one that will do both jobs.

Thanks

The best boost controller, IMO, is the apexi one that's out right now. That's the one I'll be getting, but I don't know if it has built in turbo timer functions.

the apexi avc-r (is that it) also cost about $400. you can get a greddy profec b and a turbo timer for less. plsu the greddy seems easy as hell to use and its very effective. the joe p can also be made into an electronic boost controller with the kit you can buy from them for $200.

reason you might be spooling slower on a hot day is from less power being made. the air is less dense when its hot out.

Okay I got it fixed, somewhat.

It turned out to be my crappy bov.I hate turboXS recirc valve. I got it for cheap but I guess price determines quality. The bov was stuck open. Unfortunately, the brass valve cylinder expands when it heats up... and it expands quicker than the aluminum housing (I think). Its scraping really hard until It gets to the point where the valve wont move anymore..

the temporary solution was sandpaper and oil to lube it up.Now its running fine again Although It still spool slower. Im guessing that the bov is crappy and is leaking upper in the RPM at higher boost.

Oh well...As for the boost controller, Im going to get electric nonetheless. The heat down here in texas is not helping at all.Prolly im just going to get profec B II and greddy turbo timer. I like how small they are.

bar is just another conversion factor of pressure. 1 bar = 14.7psi and .5 bar = 7.35 psi
