My A/C stopped blowing cold. I looked at the A/C clutch and it wasn't spinning. I got home and hooked up my A/C gauge set and saw low and high side pressure, so I knew I had to take off the bumper cover to check the wiring at the pressure-cycling switch on the dryer and also take out the air intake box to check the electromagnet signal wire. I removed the bumper cover, and ground the middle wire on the pressure cycling switch connector. Fans came on but the clutch did not. Dammit. Removed air box and tested the electromagnet signal wire. 12V present with A/C button on and nothing with is off, so signal was good. Electromagnet bad. Dammit. I'll keep everyone up to date on progress. This will take some time for me to save up some money for an electromagnet but if you have any questions on bumper cover or air box removal, let me know. I can provide some pics.

Thanks for posting this.

If you could use the FAQ link in my signature and use one of my HowTo's as a template, the community would be thankful.

Will do. I should have the part next Thursday. I'll take pics and write up a how-to. My car has 198K miles on it, so you'll probably be seeing a lot of me. :gapteeth:

Well, I got it done. My camera batteries ran out so it won't be the best write-up ever. I'll work on it this week. Repair cost was about $145 counting cost of tools. Sure beats $1900 for installment of a new compressor.
