i was watching TRUCKS! on spike sunday and at the very end of the show they profiled a new brake booster and MC. it was powered by an electric motor to to preasureize some kind of fluid into a gigantic MC. they said that a typical vacume booster provides 500 psi of pressure whereas the electric provides 5000 psi. just imagine the possibilities of a system like that on one of our cars. even if it was just 1000 psi, that would be like havig formula 1 ceramic brakes. 60-0 in less than 100 feet. WTF!

yeah good luck trying to stop without your tires giving out first.

yeah i'm shure with that much power, the tires would "go out", the calipers would split , the lines would explode, and the rotors would get crushed. but if you can designe a system like that then you would complete the package by making hardware that would match the increase in power. (plus wider wheels and tires would be required.):ylsuper

I think what he meant by that was that the tires would lock-up well before you ever hit 5000 psi of pressure. And F1 brakes do not actually use brake boosters of any kind. It is purely leg strength and leverage provided by the pedal and MC to Caliper bore ratio.

like 180fan said, even if you would make the break components in our cars handle the additional PSI, u'd simply lock the tires, whats the point? Just get a big break kit, prolly cheaper and more... down to earth.

the refrence to f1 brakes was just a comparison in rate of deceleration. of course you would need wider and stickier tires. and i ment only 1000 psi for a 240. its possible.

can you lock up your stock brakes? is the bais correct? then why do you need a different MC? unless your legs are so weak that you cant lock up your current brakes...

and like said above, its all in the tires.
