1999.5 Pathfinder (new model for that year in the US)

2 months ago, I came out in the morning and tried to start it and it was completely dead. No lights, keyless entry didn't work, no power indications whatsoever.

The only thing that would happen power related was when I opened the driver's door, I heard a clicking sound for 10 to 20 seconds.

Jumping the car didn't work.

I took the battery out (1.5 years old) and took it to the place I bought it and they checked it and said it was fine.

When I reinstalled the battery, the car started up fine.

The car has run fine for the last two months and then yesterday it happened again.

This time, I just disconnected the battery and reconnected it a few seconds later and the power came back and it started up fine and has been working fine today.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

I found some online references to the battery saver function, but that seems limited to certain circuits and shouldn't completely shut the car down?

From what you are describing it kind of sounds like it is something as simple as your battery terminals or connectors are loose or have corrosion on them, did you already check them?
