Electrical water temp gauge install

I can't get it to work. I got it grounded to the body and the other wire to the water temp sensor. Is there any other way of installing it? Maybe splice it into the ecu or something?

Edit: I tried again and now when the key is out, it reads 250 and when I turn it on, it reads normal temp. I don't know whats wrong. :\

the gauge should have 3 wires, one goes to IGN+, one to the sensor and one to a ground. other than that, there isnt really anything you can do wrong, possbily the gauge is bad?

Wheres a good place to splice for ignition?

since my gauges are in the din, i took it from the +12v at the stereo. you can also take it off the + side of the cigarette lighter, or anywhere else thats on with the car is on.
