1997 d21 hardbody 4cyl manual ka24e XE extn cab. I was working on my alternator and ended up breaking the swivel mount bracket. I have been able to get the belt tight enough to run, but now I have a short somewhere. The left turn signal does not work with the parking/head lights on and the arrow is solid green. Both signals work fine untill I turn on headlights. I also just replaced a burnt out license plate light on right side. No electrical problems in past.

Check the bulbs on the left side front and rear. I think you may have a parking filament burnt and has fell across turn signal light filament. You have to look very close. It may be front or back.

Thanks for the suggestion it worked. I had a bulb on front side that looked good, but was burnt. Replaced and everything working again.
