Hey all, my g/f has a 95 240sx se and it wont start anymore. In the past when the key went to "start" it would sometimes not kick over. Then we would wait a min or so, try again, and it would start.

I thought it was bad terminal connection at the battery. Since when the key is on "accesory" everything would still be on...it just wouldnt turn when pressed to start.

So...it left her stranded two nights ago, but then when i went to pick the car up a day later it started no problem, so the batt still has good juice in it. We drove it home today and it started up again b/c we were going to go to autozone to get new terminal clamps. Park at blockbuster for a second, and it wouldnt start again.

I mess with the terminals..nothing changes. The int. lights are on, and the batt still seems to have pleanty of juice, and i dont hear the starter solenoid clicking either. Its just nothing...

So then I get my car and try to jump it for the hell of it....still nothing, just like before. So maybe the batt has a bad cell thats grounding it? So i take the terminal clamps off and hook the mr2 batt straight up to them w/ the jumper cables. STILL Nothing...ok...wtf?!?

I check every fuse i could find everywhere. The batt has enough power, and the mr2 one definetly did. The Terminals turned out to be fine because it didnt even work w/ my batt.

What else is there?? What else can i check? The starter? The starter solenoid maybe?

I dont really know my electrical stuff too well...so i dont know where to go from here.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Make sure your power wire to the starter is good first (not grounded ect) if that's good then it's your starter. It could however also be your ignition not sending the signal to the starter when you turn the key all the way to start. Check these things first.
