Electrical Problems

i got a 95 240sx. ok well long story short my friend hooked up his side of the jumper cables backwards when we were trying to jump start my 240.(i left my radio on too long) So after that my radio first stopped workin. so i just got the battery fully charged at autozone today brought it back put it in and now the whole damn electrical system isnt working. But the weird thing is everything else was working before i pulled the battery out. Any ideas on what could be wrong. Your advise would be greatly appreciated. and also does ne1 know what the "chime" is in the driver side kick panel where the fuses are? I think it was that but something was making a weird noise from around there after the little accident.

backward jump start? check the fusible links. there are some one the bat pos terminal. they look like wires with plugs on both ends. if they are squishy then they are blown. there may also be some in the fusebox that look like big fuses. the chime is just to the left of the clutch pedal(and up).
