electrical problems

I had recently bought a 1991 240sx coupe and have got it but have a electrical problem. I was wondering if anyone could give me some clues where the problem might lye.

I got my car and both headlight motors work, but when i turned my lights on, just my left light came on. Then i turned on my high beams, and my left turned off and right came on, but i dont think that it was high beam??? Now only my right turns on when i turn on my high beams. Any clues?

Pull the bulbs out, take off the connector, and use a volt meter to see if you get voltage to the lights when the low beams are on, and when the high beams are on. I'm not sure which wire is which on the connector, but the ground is on one side and the high and low are in the middle and other side.
