Electrical problems

Car: 1986 Maroon 300ZX.

When I shut my Z off, all the lights stay on and go dim. About half normal brightness but they stay on. Have to disconnect the battery to turn them off.

Is this something that just started happening out of the blue? Was there and maintenance or etc recently done?

That's very unusual. The headlight control stalk is a common issue but normally just stops working, the dimness would indicate it's drawing power. Any aftermarket alarm or stereo in the car?
